Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:   

  • Provide daily support for AWS cloud-based databases, including performance optimization, backups, and replication. 
  • Oversee the migration of large datasets from on-premise databases to cloud solutions.  
  • Design, implement, and manage database systems to support core business operations. 
  • Monitor database performance and fine-tune queries for efficiency. 
  • Implement and maintain robust security protocols to safeguard sensitive data.  
  • Conduct regular backups, establish data replication strategies, and plan for disaster recovery to ensure data integrity. 
  • Collaborate with developers and system administrators to troubleshoot and resolve database issues. 
  • Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and tools to improve system performance. 
  • Assist in planning for database capacity and scalability to accommodate business growth. 
  • Document database processes, procedures, and configurations for knowledge transfer and ensure compliance. 
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users on database-related matters. 
  • Continuously learn about the latest trends and best practices in database management and fintech. 

Expectations & Requirements:   

  • You hold a degree in Computer Science, IT, or a similar field, and have at least 3 years of kicking butt as a DBA (Database Administrator) or a similar role in the financial services industry. 
  • You're a master of database systems like MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server. Data security is second nature to you, and you know how to optimize databases for peak performance. 
  • You've got experience with backing up, replicating, and recovering data like a pro. 
  • Problem-solving and meticulous attention to detail are your superpowers. You can communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with anyone, across any team. 
  • Bonus points for certifications in database technologies and experience with AWS!
