Job Description

The company is on the lookout for a Chief Trading Risk Manager to be based in Limassol, responsible for heading the Trading team. This key role focuses on overseeing trading activities and optimizing risk management while ensuring adherence to regulations. The Chief Trading Risk Manager will enhance profitability through in-depth market analysis, strategic planning, and executing FX trades. Key duties also include managing liquidity, supervising market-making, and executing hedging strategies, alongside collaborating with the Compliance Department to facilitate seamless trading operations. 

 Roles & Responsibilities:   

• Collaborate with top management to compile and implement the Trading Risk Management Policy. 
• Monitor operational and market risks while defining and overseeing the company’s trading risk thresholds. 
• Recommend and establish internal risk controls for daily trading activities, ensuring timely mitigation of excess risk through external hedging with liquidity providers. 
• Conduct proactive monitoring of client trading activities to identify and mitigate potential risks in line with the Trading Risk Policy. 
• Assess and analyze aggregate risks, measuring their impact on the company and continuously monitoring overall risk exposure. 
• Lead, mentor, and train the Trading Department team, ensuring high performance and compliance with trading policies. 
• Allocate tasks, set objectives, and prepare weekly/monthly work schedules for the Trading Department to ensure operational efficiency. 
• Develop tools and scripts to enhance daily operations and reporting, while ensuring quality assurance for new software releases and upgrades. 
• Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports for management, interpreting findings and drawing actionable conclusions. 
• Monitor price feeds, client order execution, and troubleshoot trading system issues, ensuring regulatory reporting compliance (e.g., EMIR, ASIC, MIFIR). 
• Review client trading activities to identify abusive practices, alerting management to potential trends and violations. 
• Maintain knowledge of Forex market regulations and best practices while spearheading Trading Department projects and ensuring system performance. 

Expectations & Requirements:   

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or relevant industry experience. 
• More than 5 years of experience as a Trading Risk Manager or Dealer in the Forex market, including a minimum of 3 years in a senior or leadership position. 
• Demonstrated success in managing a high-volume trading desk. 
• Solid understanding of financial and capital markets, with a focus on FX, commodities, equities, and futures. 
• Holder of the CySEC Advanced Certificate. 
• Comprehensive knowledge of the regulatory landscape for financial markets and investment firms. 
• Proficient in using MT4 and MT5 Administrator and Manager tools. 
• Capable of performing well in a fast-paced environment and under pressure. 
• Strong mathematical skills and meticulous attention to detail. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. 
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel. 
• Experience with various trading platforms is an advantage. 
• Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities. 
• Familiarity with programming, AI, and the cryptocurrency space is a plus.
