Roles & Responsibilities:

• Identify and assess enterprise-wide risks across the organisation, implementing relevant policies, procedures, systems, and controls to effectively manage and mitigate these risks.
• Provide oversight and constructive challenge regarding the firm's risk management systems and controls.
• Monitor the Firm's Market Risk Exposure, reviewing and approving risk limits to ensure adequate oversight.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive risk management process that analyses the financial implications for the firm when risks materialise.
• Conduct Risk Assessments in collaboration with department heads, evaluating existing risks and pinpointing potential risks that may impact the company.
• Establish position limits for clients' trading accounts to manage exposure.
• Authorise client withdrawals from active trading accounts, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
• Approve the addition of new products to clients' trading accounts, in line with risk management policies.
• Prepare and maintain internal and external data for risk analysis and reporting purposes.
• Present regular risk analysis reports to the Board, accompanied by actionable recommendations to mitigate or prevent potential threats at all organisational levels.
• Ensure that the governing body receives sufficient risk information, analysis, and training to understand their responsibilities.
• Develop and implement a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and a Disaster Recovery (DR) plan to address and mitigate risks effectively.
• Conduct regular reviews of risk policies to ensure they remain relevant, effective, and robust.
• Report to the board of directors on significant risks facing the business, ensuring that department heads understand the risks affecting their areas and that employees recognise their responsibilities for managing individual risks.

Expectations & Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree is the minimum educational requirement.
• At least five years of experience in risk management within a financial institution or banking sector is necessary.
• A solid operational understanding of the Risk function is essential.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required.
• Ability to make independent decisions regarding client onboarding and compliance and AML training implementation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to influence decisions at the executive level.
• Meticulous attention to detail and effective communication with team members, business units, and external stakeholders are crucial.
• The candidate should be a collaborative team player.

• Strong communication skills for engaging with internal departments and external clients and authorities.
