Proprietary Futures Trader - Agricultural Sector

Job Description

The company is looking for an experienced Proprietary Futures Arbitrage Trader to join their team. As a Futures Trader specializing in agricultural commodities, you will play a key role in developing and managing the trading desk, building the trading book, and driving revenue generation. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Trading Strategy Development: Leverage your expertise in agricultural commodities to design and execute arbitrage trading strategies, particularly focusing on China vs. global market dynamics. 
  • Agricultural Futures Arbitrage: Take full ownership of arbitrage trading for agricultural product futures, managing both offshore and onshore positions across a range of products such as Grains, Vegetable Oils, Soybeans, etc. 
  • Position Monitoring and Reporting: Consolidate business segment holdings, monitor brokerage and bank fund movements, and track monthly positions. Provide timely updates to the trading supervisor. 
  • Industry Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of market trends, industry developments, and sector-specific data. Prepare detailed research reports to inform trading strategies. 
  • Investment Opportunity Identification: Identify and assess lucrative investment opportunities within the agricultural futures market, applying deep sector knowledge. 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience: hands-on experience in the futures or securities finance industry, particularly in commodities arbitrage, with a proven PnL track record. 
  • Market Insight: Strong market insight, exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to develop and execute trading strategies effectively. 
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills are essential. 
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage pressure effectively. 
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or a related field.
