Role Overview

The Promotion Manager is a seasoned professional tasked with driving the company's growth in the MENA region through strategic marketing and promotional activities. This role is pivotal in enhancing the company's visibility and client engagement in compliance with the regulatory framework established by the SCA/CMA.

Note: As of 1 January 2026, the SCA was replaced by the Capital Market Authority (CMA) under Federal Decree-Laws No. 32 and 33 of 2025. The SCA Rulebook (Board of Directors' Decision No. 13/R.M of 2021) continues to apply as the operational framework during the transition.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all promotional materials and campaigns adhere strictly to SCA/CMA regulations, verifying that all marketing messages are accurate, not misleading, and compliant with advertising standards.
  • Align promotional activities with regulatory requirements to ensure all communications are compliant, and serve as a point of contact between the marketing department and regulatory authorities to ensure promotional content is compliant and approved.
  • Liaise with the regulator on queries, audits, and inspections concerning Category 5 activity, and maintain ongoing compliance with the regulator's continuing obligations and fitness criteria.

Marketing & Promotions

  • Develop and execute promotional strategies and marketing campaigns aligned with the firm's SCA Category 5 licensing scope.
  • Oversee creation and approval of promotional materials across digital platforms, events, print, and social media channels.
  • Build relationships with prospective clients, institutional investors, and other partners to increase sales and brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with different departments to develop targeted promotions for specific segments and support clients in managing promotional events and marketing materials.

Reporting & Governance

  • Monitor the effectiveness of promotional activities and provide regular reports on campaign performance, client engagement, and compliance status, including staying updated on regulatory changes and adjusting strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to governance, approvals, documentation control, and audit readiness.

Team Development

  • Provide training and guidance to team members on regulatory compliance and best practices in marketing, ensuring the team is well-informed about SCA/CMA regulations and the ethical standards expected in promotional activities.

Minimum Qualifications (SCA/CMA Regulatory Requirements)

Option A: A university degree along with a minimum of 5 years' experience in financial markets or relevant fields.

Option B (Alternative): A diploma certificate or equivalent, along with a minimum of 10 years' experience in financial markets or relevant fields.

Required Examinations (CISI — for SCA/CMA License Approval)

The following CISI exams are required for SCA license approval:

  • UAE Financial Rules and Regulations
  • International Certificate in Wealth and Investment Management (Level 3)

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Extensive understanding of UAE financial regulations and compliance requirements, and at least 3–5 years of experience in banks, wealth management, or the FX industry.
  • Familiarity with financial products (securities, derivatives, funds) and prior experience in regulated markets or with regulators is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to analyse data and implement promotional strategies; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM systems and analytics platforms.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is a strong advantage.
