FinTop Consulting is a specialist recruitment and advisory firm supporting well-established clients across the FX, fintech, and broader financial services industry. We work closely with regulated firms globally to help them build high-performing teams across trading, operations, risk, compliance, and business functions.

We are currently supporting a well-established client in the financial trading sector to hire a Trading Operations Officer for their Malta office.

Role Overview

The role focuses on supporting live trading operations within a regulated environment. The position involves monitoring trading activity, ensuring platform stability, overseeing pricing and execution quality, and supporting risk controls and escalation processes from a local Malta base.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time trading activity, exposure levels, client flow, and platform alerts
• Identify and escalate unusual trading behaviour, pricing issues, and execution exceptions
• Ensure adherence to internal trading limits, risk controls, and operational parameters
• Oversee pricing feeds, spreads, margin settings, and platform performance stability
• Support resolution of trade breaks, execution issues, and system-related incidents
• Assist in exposure monitoring, risk reporting, and incident management processes
• Maintain accurate logs of trading activity, escalations, and key events
• Support compliance, audits, and regulatory documentation requirements
• Contribute to daily trading summaries and risk reporting
• Coordinate with trading, risk, compliance, IT, and finance teams

Requirements

• Experience in trading operations, brokerage, dealing, or risk monitoring
• Background in FX, CFDs, or regulated financial services environments
• Strong understanding of trading mechanics, pricing, and execution
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strong documentation discipline
• Ability to work in fast-paced market conditions with strong escalation judgment
• Exposure to trading platforms such as MetaTrader is an advantage
• Finance, economics, or related academic background preferred
